Title : 11 brefs essais contre le racisme Material Type: printed text Authors: Amel Zaazaa, Editor ; Christian Nadeau, Editor ; Stella Adjoké, Author ; Idil Issa, Author ; Marc-Édouard Joubert, Author ; Lucie Lamarche, Author ; Widia Larivière, Author ; Christian Nadeau, Author ; Cheikh Tidiane Ndiaye, Author ; Alexandra Pierre, Author ; Will Prosper, Author ; Rodney Saint-Éloi, Author ; Fabrice Vil, Author ; Webster, Author ; Amel Zaazaa, Author ; Frantz Voltaire, Author Publisher: Éditions Somme Toute Publication Date: 2019 ISBN (or other code): 978-2-924606-89-6 Languages : English (eng) Descriptors: Black/Anti-Black
- [S.l.] : Éditions Somme Toute, 2019.

Race/Anti-Racism
Unpopular HistoryAbstract: This brief history of the most notorious hate groups in the U.S. not only provides some interesting background on the Ku Klux Klan and its origins as a tool for rolling back the African-Americans' gains of the reconstruction period but also portrays its widespread activities today and its links with Nazi and nativist skinheads. Examines the violence being used by these hate groups in the 1990's to further racism, anti-semitism, gay-bashing, nativism and pushing back the women's movement. Footage of interviews with David Duke and Tom Metzger reveals their efforts to repackage hate within the bosom of so-called "All American Values." Examines the phenomenon of "white" rock'n roll and the right-wing media establishment to mobilize whites against blacks, gays, foreigners and Jews. Quickly examines the relationships between the FBI and the Klan. Also shows that many skinheads condemn the fascist skinhead movement. Behind the Burning Cross : Racism U.S.A. Women of ColourAbstract: "Black Geographies is an interdisciplinary collection of essays in black geographic theory. Fourteen authors address specific geographic sites and develop their geopolitical relevance with regards to race, uneven geographies, and resistance.
Multi-faceted and erudite, Black Geographies brings into focus the politics of place that black subjects, communities, and philosophers inhabit. Highlights include essays on the African diaspora and its interaction with citizenship and nationalism, critical readings of the blues and hip-hop, and thorough deconstructions of Nova Scotian and British Columbian black topography. Drawing on historical, contemporary, and theoretical black geographies from the USA, the Caribbean, and Canada, these essays provide an exploration of past and present black spatial theories and experiences."Black Geographies and the Politics of Place [printed text] / Katherine McKittrick, Editor ; Clyde Woods, Editor . - [S.l.] : Between the Lines, Toronto, 2007.
